StrongerTogether – Professional Volleyball clubs stand shoulder-to-shoulder

Cannes, France, November 7, 2018– Today, the foundation of ACPV, a new association with the goal of strengthening professional club Volleyball, was formally announced. 

Wednesday, November 7, 2018 will go down as a historic landmark in Volleyball, as leading clubs such as Budowlani Łodz, CSM Volei Alba Blaj, Eczacıbaşı Spor Kulübü Istanbul, Galatasaray S.K., the Polish top leagues Liga Siatkówki Kobiet and PlusLiga, Partizan Beograd, RC Cannes, Uralochka-NTMK Ekaterinburg, VBC Züri Unterland, VC Maritza Plovdiv, and Volero Le Cannet laid down the foundation stone of ACPV, the Association des Clubs Professionnels de Volleyball. The purpose of the ACPV is to represent its members and their interests alongside with the development of professional club Volleyball. Its objectives will be fostered through related and associated activities, as well as through the cooperation with the international governing bodies, the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV).

“This coalition is decisive for the future of professional club Volleyball. The ACPV members are committed to pull together and to take club Volleyball to the next level,” said ACPV President Stav Jacobi.

Olympic champion and recently appointed ACPV General Manager Ivan Miljković emphasizes that ACPV is enhancing club Volleyball, lifting Volleyball to an even more professional level by proactively tackling challenges of modern sports and forging strong ties between the professional Volleyball clubs and he summarizes,“after having experienced everything as an athlete, I am very honoured to contribute all my skills and knowledge to ACPV and Volleyball”.

The ACPV will not only render as a forum of information connected to club Volleyball and promote relations amongst its members, but it shall also improve the commercial interest of its stakeholders. Additionally, the ACPV stresses to establish a strong relationship with both the FIVB and CEV following its key claim “StrongerTogether”.
